Project Description:

Peterson Construction was awarded this design-bid-build for a plant upgrade/expansion at the City of Tiffin WPCC.  The goal of the project was to expand the plant wet weather capacity to 13 MGD while also upgrading aged equipment and infrastructure at the facility.  The scope of the improvements included upgrades to the existing Influent Pump Station to expand capacity, replacement of two (2) Primary Clarifier Mechanisms,  addition of an Anaerobic Tank for biological phosphorus removal, step feed Aeration Upgrades, a new Final Clarifier Splitter Box, a new 130’ diameter Final Clarifier, replacement of three (3) existing Final Clarifier Mechanisms, a new RAS Pump Station, conversion from Chlorine to UV Disinfection, a new Post-Aeration Tank, and many other improvements.   The project also eliminated the need for an Intermediate Lift station at the facility by raising the walls of the existing Primary Clarifiers.
