Peterson Construction (PCC) was awarded this design-bid-build project in December 2014. Scope of the work included (2) off-site raw water pump stations and a surface water treatment plant rated for 6.75 MGD. The treatment process included chemical addition with sodium permanganate, ferric sulfate, lime, soda ash, rapid mix, flocculation with 3-stage tapered horizontal flocculators, sedimentation in rectangular basins with chain and flight collectors, a pressurized solution feed (PSF) carbon dioxide feed system, a recarbonation basin, sand and anthracite filtration, GAC contactors, disinfection with sodium hypochlorite, fluoridation, phosphate addition, clearwell storage, and finished water pumping. Ancillary facilities included generator, backwash reclamation tanks, and on-site wastewater disposal system along with all necessary plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and controls work.
